 Accounting & Reporting Specialist

As an Accounting & Reporting Specialist you will join the General Ledger team in Spain, taking part in the processing of daily business activities and monthly / quarterly / annual closing process, and support in the reporting and consolidation processes, both for BME and SIX. In this context you will closely work together with different departments to assure that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS. You will also be involved in the annual evaluation of BME’s internal control system (ICS) and compliance with the SIX Group guidelines under the supervision of the local team and the headquarters in Switzerland.

What You Will Do 

  • process daily business (i.e. maintains accounting records by daily booking and reconciling of accounting documents) and contribute to monthly /quarterly / annually closing by performing dedicated tasks (e.g. deferrals of costs and revenues, etc.)
  • support in the preparation of individual and consolidated financial statements (Cuentas Anuales), and other relevant financial and activity reports to the CNMV in accordance with relevant legislation and requirements
  • participate in the monthly consolidation process, review intercompany eliminations and perform reconciliations as needed 
  • perform internal controls and keeps the process documentation up-to-date in accordance with SIX’s internal policies 
  • support the annual audit process and tend to requests and queries

What You Bring

  • bachelor degree, superior technical education or master degree in business administration, accounting, economy or finance
  • a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial audit, accounting or financial reporting including month end closing activities
  • good knowledge of accounting regulations like IFRS and GAAP 
  • good command of Excel and experience with SAP. Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g. SAC, Power-BI) is an advantage
  • resilient, responsible, proactive and independent personality with a customer-oriented and team player mindset, having strong analytical, time-management and communication skills 
  • high level in written and spoken English and Spanish to interact with our international colleagues
