BME is the infrastructure of all the securities markets and financial systems in Spain and is owned by SIX.


You will be part of the Business Development Team that is reporting to the Head of Business Management & Services within the Business Unit “Exchanges”.

Business Development drives the integration of the Business Unit and aims to add value to the organization by providing support and expertise to projects in the core, existing product portfolio and even more so to evaluate opportunities in adjacent and new markets and products as well as to explore possibilities in transformational business areas. The team consists of a small number of highly experienced team players with a long track record in capital markets and financial markets infrastructure business.

Based out of Spain, you will be the main Business Development contact for our Spanish colleagues and – as an integral part of the team in Zurich – closely work with them on various initiatives with a clear focus on analyzing market developments, developing ideas and thought leadership topics, also in collaboration with F10 and academia.




What You Will Do 

  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape in the financial markets infrastructure sector as a basis for the definition of Business Unit strategy and strategic development
  • Collaborate and build bridges with various legal entities within Business Unit “Exchanges” as well as Corporate Functions such as Strategy and M&A to support the definition and co-designing of product and corporate strategies
  • Thought leadership: Cooperate with F10 and academia with a view to identify new business opportunities, followed by the promotion of new, creative and future-oriented service and product ideas
  • Digitalization & IT: Analysis, integration, adaptation or expansion of new IT standards and operations within the organization
  • Initiate and participate in projects as a subject matter expert for product developments to e.g., meet new regulations, technologies or market expansions

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree (ideally in finance or business administration); Master degree is an advantage accompanied by at least 3 years of relevant work experience with an excellent understanding of financial markets, specifically the activities of a financial markets infrastructure business (listing, trading and associated business streams)
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual reasoning skills, accompanied by a proven track record in conceptual work and the ability to assess detailed documents to identify impacts and opportunities on our business, present structured outcomes and clear priorities to deliver results supported by strong business rationale
  • Entrepreneurial thinking as well as good and clear communication skills are an advantage
  • The ability to draft relevant presentations and responses suitable and appropriate for all levels of stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
