Head of Application Management

Are you are enthusiastic about exciting IT projects in the financial industry? Do you have relevant experience managing IT systems? Do you enjoy working with internal and external teams in a global environment? In BME we are looking for a Head of Application Management, who will be part of a dynamic and innovative IT team, working on cutting-edge technologies and contributing to the company's IT journey and improvements, playing a vital role on helping our IT team to move forward. You will work on a flexible environment, under a hybrid model (3 days at home - 2 days in office).
What You Will Do
- ensure stable operations of the IT applications within the responsibilities defined. Promote open communication, give regularly feedback and provide all information the teams may need
- manage and report Application SLAs, supervise the incident and problem management process and support in the incident resolution. Escalate issues which need management attention
- drive transformation of application landscape and close collaboration with Business teams
- plan and coordinate with vendor, business and other IT units the implementation and maintenance of IT applications to ensure timely implementations of the new releases in Development, Test and Production systems
- make sure the development and change process are in accordance with the principles and guidelines from Architecture, Security & Strategy
What You Bring
- relevant professional experience of above 10 years in a similar role and position. Experience in software development, application maintenance and team management
- knowledge about Securities settlement, SWIFT message standards will be highly valued
- good knowledge in On-premise applications (Cobol/DB2)
- ability to understand and communicate with business, IT requirements and prioritize business needs. Ability to manage dependencies and risks
- knowledge in DevOps- / CI/CD-tools: GIT, Maven, Ansible, Argo CD and Container platforms: Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift. Working experience in Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Business 4.0, DB2/Oracle is also valuable.
- very good communication skills in Spanish&English (verbal & written). German will be a plus
