Data Engineer

Banking Services plays a key role in orchestrating Swiss payments by providing the infrastructure behind interbank, card-based, and mobile transactions.
As part of our Data Analytics & Engineering team—embedded within the Banking Services business unit of SIX Group—you will help unlock the value of data to empower smarter business decisions for our organization and our customers. Using state-of-the-art technologies, advanced analytics, and AI (including large language models), we are transforming how we operate and interact with customers. What You Will Do
- design, implement, and optimize scalable Python-based ETL pipelines across on-prem (Windows, Linux) and Azure (Databricks) environments
- build robust data ingestion workflows for structured and unstructured data, including schema mapping, data quality checks, and error handling
- develop data solutions that enable insights, automation, and preparation for predictive and prescriptive models
- communicate analytical results effectively using Power BI or Python-based visualization tools
- build and maintain container-based CI/CD pipelines, including orchestration, logging, and alerting across on-prem and cloud platforms
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience in Data, ML, or Software Engineering roles, with strong production-level Python expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- solid understanding of engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and documentation, plus an interest in modern Data/ML concepts
- hands-on experience with relational databases, including query performance and data modeling
- familiarity with data analysis, statistics, visualization, version control, CI/CD, and containerization; experience with Azure services (Databricks, ADF) is a plus
