Lead Software Engineer

Do you want to lead a high-performing engineering team working on mission-critical, real-time financial systems? Are you passionate about combining hands-on software engineering with people leadership? Then our Market & Reference Data Engineering Team in Warsaw wants to hear from you!
We are an ambitious and collaborative team responsible for building and operating large-scale, real-time financial data processing platforms, handling more than 2,000 live data feeds. Our goal is to deliver highly reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems that power business-critical decisions across the organization.
In this hybrid leadership role, you will guide a team of around 15 engineers, shape the technical direction of our platforms, and actively contribute to the design and development of our core systems. You will work closely with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to drive continuous innovation, performance, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~15 software engineers, driving engagement, performance, and professional growth
- own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of real-time market and reference data feed systems
- contribute hands-on to software development, writing high-quality, efficient, and reliable C code
- ensure high system performance, stability, and scalability through strong engineering practices, testing, and monitoring
- collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders to align priorities, roadmaps, and delivery
What You Bring
- proven experience leading engineering teams, including coaching, hiring, and delivery management
- strong technical background in C programming; C++ knowledge is a plus
- solid experience with Linux environments, shell scripting, and Git/GitLab-based workflows
- passion for ownership, continuous improvement, and building high-performing teams
- languages: Fluent in English (spoken and written); German is a plus
