The SIX Central IT Software Engineering team specializes in designing, developing, and continuously optimizing custom applications and integrated solutions using public cloud technologies. We leverage agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust, scalable, and user-centric applications tailored specifically to meet diverse business requirements. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our custom-developed solutions, leveraging your strong software engineering expertise and proactive mindset. In addition to contributing to our technical delivery, you will take on leadership responsibilities by guiding a Scrum team and overseeing two internal applications throughout their lifecycle. You will ensure that our applications continually meet the evolving needs of internal customers, actively collaborating with stakeholders and team members to identify and implement optimizations.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of diverse applications using modern technologies such as Java, Docker, GitLab, and Azure Cloud.
- Guide and support a cross-functional Scrum team, ensuring effective collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-quality delivery across all phases of development.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for two internal applications, including lifecycle management, technical direction, operational readiness, and alignment with business needs.
- Drive collaboration with team members and internal customers to design, adapt, and optimize custom-developed cloud solutions for diverse projects, including robust public cloud services (IaaS/PaaS).
- Mentor junior developers in backend and web development, enhancing technical skills and promoting innovation and emerging technologies.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot (at least 5 years), combined with strong backend engineering expertise.
- Nice-to-have experience with Angular or other frontend technologies.
- Autonomous, quality-focused work attitude, capable of leading teams, mentoring others, and ensuring high customer satisfaction and excellent delivery standards.
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal). German language skills are a plus but not required.
