Software Engineer (80-100%)

Within the Swiss exchange, Index IT is responsible for calculating all our indices such as "SMI" with high precision. We are an international team with more than 10 nationalities and are expanding to become a global index provider. Our index platform is of great importance to SIX as it is tightly coupled with the exchange: neither can run without the other. This globally-distributed team of experienced engineers focuses on delivering a robust and high performance software. As a Junior Developer, you will be majorly spending time designing and developing applications, fixing bugs and supporting launching projects. Independent work with a lot of flexibility as well as various opportunities and growth possibilities.
What You Will Do
- design, develop, test, automate, deploy and maintain highly available, robust, resilient and secure applications/solutions
- contribute towards new and ongoing Technology projects in areas of Scalability, Performance and High Availability and Automation
- collaborate with Architects, developers, devops engineers and system administrators
- support the team to rapidly develop new financial products
- investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis
What You Bring
- proven experience as software developer
- experience with one or more languages like Java, Javascript, Python or Scala, and willing to learn other languages
- experience with Git or any other version control
- knowledge of frameworks/concepts like React, Spring/SpringBoot, Microservices
- knowledge of SQL
- knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab runners) and Linux is a plus
- financial markets/trading experience is a plus
- positive, result-driven attitude with high sense for team work and quality
- excellent verbal and written skills in English
