Senior Oracle Engineer

Our international team owns the engineering and operations of database platforms including Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL. As a senior Oracle Engineer, you’ll take end-to-end responsibility for our services—from design and automation to operations and third-level support. You’ll join a highly motivated team working in a sophisticated environment where your voice truly matters. What You Will Do
- Lead the engineering and operations of our Oracle platforms, with deep involvement across design, automation, operations, and third‑level support.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Exadata on‑premises and Oracle Database (19c), across production and non‑production environments.
- Optimize performance, analysing SQL queries, tuning parameters, and proactively improving database efficiency and reliability.
- Define the Oracle product vision and roadmap, influencing the long-term evolution of our platform.
- Establish engineering standards and guardrails, ensuring reliability, automation, and operational excellence at scale.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Security, Business) to align priorities, communicate trade‑offs, and ensure measurable impact.
- Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
What You Will Bring
- You bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive engineering mindset. Specifically, you offer:
- Extensive experience with Oracle Database (19c or higher) and hands‑on expertise in Oracle Exadata on‑premises environments
- A proven track record as a technical leader, influencing engineering direction and architectural decisions
- Strong automation skills, particularly with Ansible, including the ability to automate Oracle operations and create APIs
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex topics and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of additional database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Perl
- A committed “you build it, you run it” mindset, owning solutions end‑to‑end from design to operations
