Senior Legal Counsel

Do you want to work in an international environment where collaboration, trust, and innovation are paramount? We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Group Corporate Centre Legal team, with a particular focus on M&A, while also supporting broader corporate centre matters. You will work in a diverse and flexible environment in close cooperation with colleagues in various jurisdictions, contributing to strategic initiatives that shape the future of our markets.
What You Will Do
- Lead or support M&A transactions, corporate reorganizations and other strategic Group initiatives.
- Provide legal advice and support on other strategic, complex or time-sensitive matters where Corporate Centre input is required.
- Prepare high-quality materials and deliver clear, concise legal input to support decision-making at senior management and board level.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, regulators and authorities, preparing key documentation and ensuring effective execution.
- Lead or support cross-functional initiatives, manage external counsel, and contribute to the development of legal processes, frameworks and tools.
What You Bring
- Master's degree in law, admission to the bar in Spain or another relevant European jurisdiction and 5+ years of professional experience in a law firm or the financial sector.
- Strong expertise in M&A and corporate law; experience in competition law and/or financial market regulation is an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, board-level contacts, and external stakeholders.
- Independent, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset, with sound judgment, discretion and the ability to handle sensitive matters.
- Affinity for technology and digital tools, including AI-enabled solutions; proficiency in Microsoft 365; fluency in English and Spanish.
