Business Data Architect

The Financial Information division within SIX Group is a global provider of financial data and analytics to the global financial services industry. This role sits within the Business-led Product Development division and focuses on our business data model, ensuring our financial data products meet customer, commercial and regulatory needs. The role partners closely with Product Teams, SMEs and Operations as key stakeholders.
We are looking for a Data Architect with UML business data model experience to work within the Financial Information Product Delivery group for a hands on role updating and maintaining our business data model. This encompasses the design of conceptual data models and deep analysis of the data which underpins it. The team also creates physical schemas, so experience or an interest in creating JSON schemas from conceptual models is a plus!

What You Will Do
- work with stakeholders across the business to review, update and design the conceptual data models for Financial Information, defining class definitions, standards and association semantics.
- develop and maintain design, naming conventions, dictionaries, lineage and metadata standards, collaborating with data quality teams to ensure models support validation rules.
- partner with stakeholders across the business to translate complex data concepts and requirements into robust UML data models that form the basis of BFI products.
- support the evolution of data distribution models, including API-first delivery and AI data access enablement.
- work closely with our Quality Management stakeholders, to drive adoption of the data model and data completeness.
What You Bring
- financial data knowledge: Strong understanding of the financial data domain. For example, securities reference data, corporate actions, tax/regulatory classifications or market data
- technical skills: Programming language experience in SQL, Phython and Vbscript, VBA . Demonstrated proficiency in UML business data modelling tools such as Sparx EA (ideally), Erwin, PowerDesigner or similar, with experience in forward engineering and database or data warehouse design highly desirable.
- strong understanding of data governance best practices such as the role of data owners, stewards and custodians and of conceptual and physical data models. Experience with data catalogs is desirable, but not mandatory.
- collaborative and detail oriented approach to analytical and modelling tasks. The team collaborate with many stakeholders and the outputs of these discussions must be clearly held in the Business Data Model.
- fluent in English (both verbal & writing), German is a plus.
