 Head Clearing Product & Business Development

SIX Securities Services operates the processes downstream of securities trading including clearing, settlement, custody, securities finance and trade reporting. As part of SIX Securities Services, SIX Clearing plays a key role in the European post-trade value chain, offering highly diversified CCP clearing across several asset classes and services with access to multiple trading platforms across Europe. Operating out of Madrid, Zurich and Oslo, SIX Clearing has a truly pan-European footprint. 

 

As Head of Product & Business Development – Clearing you will be responsible for the end-to-end product and growth agenda of SIX’s clearing services across multiple asset classes. You will lead two specialised teams—Product Management and Business Development—each headed by an experienced team lead. In this senior role, you shape clearing strategy, drive growth initiatives, ensure product competitiveness, and act as a key interface to clients, trading venues, regulators, and internal stakeholders. You are a member of the Clearing Management Committee and contribute directly to the strategic direction of the clearing business.

 

 

What You Will Do

  • Lead Product Management and Business Development for all clearing products across five asset classes, managing two team leaders and overall team performance.
  • Define and execute the clearing product strategy and roadmap, ensuring competitiveness in terms of coverage, connectivity, pricing, and service levels.
    Identify and drive growth opportunities, including new market segments, trading venue connections, partnerships, and interoperability initiatives, with ownership of business cases and regulatory processes.
  • Act as senior business interface and escalation point for strategic clearing members, trading venues, and key partners, closely aligned with the Executive Team and Sales.
  • Represent Clearing at senior internal and external forums, including the Clearing Management Committee, regulatory and industry working groups, and selected client events.
 

What You Bring

  • University degree in economics, finance, business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in post-trade financial market infrastructure, clearing, exchanges, or related financial services. As a clearing expert you fundamentally understand the industry and product mechanisms of Liquidity, Collateral, Balance Sheet Optimisation and Margin across different asset classes.
  • You naturally build senior strategic relationships both internally and externally, translating ideas into roadmaps and operational execution. Track record of fostering strong commercial relationships with customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial mindset, with experience owning product strategies, business cases, and growth initiatives.
  • An entrepreneurial nature with an intuitive understanding of how to create value in a highly competitive business. A thought leader with a strong affinity for continuous innovation and an ability to synthesise customer sentiment, competitor initiatives and trends in both direct and adjacent markets, in order to stay ahead of - and ideally, harness - industry disruption
  • Proven people-leadership skills, including managing senior professionals and team leads in a complex, cross-functional, international environment and excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills at senior management, client, and regulatory level.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills; German and/or Spanish is an advantage.
