 Technical Writer

As a Documentation Specialist (Technical Writer), you support participants of the electronic trading and listing platforms of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) and SIX Swiss Exchange. In close collaboration with subject‑matter experts, you prepare clear, timely communications for technical contacts at trading participants and maintain documentation products for internal and external clients. You also handle related administrative tasks. The role requires the ability to quickly understand complex topics, particularly when delivering fast and reliable information in emergency situations. You work independently and with a high degree of reliability in a complex operational environment

We are seeking a Technical Writer with a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. The position is full-time position (100%) based in Madrid and involves close collaboration with the Documentation Team in Zurich. Willingness to travel is required.

 

What You Will Do

  • Create and distribute technical notices addressed to participants of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME), SIX Swiss Exchange (SSX), SIX Exfeed, 12H and CONNEXOR.
  • Support communication tasks during emergency notifications during exchange trading hours and on weekends during trading platform migrations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support the technical help desks of these services.
  • Perform various internal documentation tasks, including creating, reviewing, and finalizing documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe Designer.
  • Publish content and maintain the Member Section.

What You Bring

  • Strong experience in technical writing, document lifecycle management, and structured content creation.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe Designer; Knowledge of SAP CRM and Confluence and expericence with SAFe / Agile project management methodologies is an advantage.
  • Excellent English skills; Spanish and German language abilities are considered strong advantages.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise content for various audiences. Solid knowledge of IT‑related topics and familiarity with financial market infrastructure.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and version control. Ability to work reliably under time pressure, including support during trading hours and occasional weekend duties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with IT teams, product owners, and operational units.
